Martin Movement

SUMMARY: Karina and Brian Martin recently welcomed a beautiful baby girl into their lives to complete their family unit. Sadly, a simple headache resulted in tragedy: Karina - young, vibrant, active wife of Brian, mother of S, J and newborn L - had a stroke which will lead to a very very long road to recovery.

The Martins were over the moon with the addition of a new baby girl. This joyous occasion was needed; they have endured multiple misfortunes over the last year. They were resilient and kept smiles on their faces (while continually being present for others). The Martins define what a sense of community should be. Brian and Karina are both very involved in the lives of everyone around them. Brian is a firefighter and part of local law enforcement. Karina stays active in the Clermont Community with her #lovewhereyoulive posts, is a leader in the neighborhood, and she is a beloved figure who coordinates community events for children and their families. They are also a dynamite husband/wife realtor team.

The Martin/Colon/Wolters families have again been struck with tragedy. Our beautiful, sweet, strong, brave Karina suffered a stroke on Wednesday, June 1st. After less than a week post-partum, Karina complained of severe headaches and went to the emergency room. The medical team immediately sent Karina (via med-flight) to a larger hospital with a neurological specialist/surgeon. Karina has required multiple surgeries up to this point.

Karina’s most recent scans are promising and progressing in the right direction. Unfortunately, Karina and the family have a long, difficult road toward recovery. There has been an outpouring of love. This account was requested by multiple parties in Southern Fields, family from NY, Brian’s Fire Department and oldest friends. Funds will be a tool to support the family in need, as it may be months before either parent (Brian or Karina) will be back to work.
