Where do we begin? Marty was on a family vacation when he suffered a massive heart attack on the morning of November the 6th. On a ship on his way to Bermuda, the unthinkable happened and the ships medical team performed CPR on Marty for over 30 minutes before a heartbeat was reestablished. Martin was transferred off the ship at 4am on Tuesday, November 7th and immediately brought to King Edward Hospital in Bermuda. Martin stayed there until his family was able to arrange a flight home for him on the evening of November 9th. The following day, the neurology team confirmed everyone's biggest fear, Martin had suffered catastrophic brain damage. With Martin being a registered organ donor, the medical team kept him alive until they were able to find him matching recipients for Martin's organs. Martin's family was pleased to learn that recipients had been found for his kidneys, his corneas and other organs we donated for research and other recipients. Martin was taken off life support on Sunday November 12th and took his last breath at 1:30pm that day. Martin leaves behind his wife of 19 years as well as his two teenaged children. Martin's 17 year old son is a senior at Doherty High School, with hopes of attending WPI in the fall of 2024. Martin's 15 year old daughter Mary, is in her sophomore year at South High School's Culinary Arts Program in Worcester. The family is only seeking donations for the medical expenses incurred in the effort to try and save Martin's life and his final arrangement costs. Sadly, Martin did not have a life insurance plan at the time of his death. Please consider a donation on behalf of Martin Foley, his family and friends to help ease the burden of this untimely tragedy. Thank you and God bless.
