Martin Arciniega Funeral Costs

Martin O. Arciniega, age 52, of Joliet, passed away suddenly on May 18, 2023. In his last moments, he was surrounded by his family.

Born on January 31, 1971, he was the 8th son of 10 children to Rafael and Maria Teresa Arciniega. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Maria.

He is survived by his daughters Melissa (Nicholas Baker), Teresita (Robert Bilotta) & Leslie Victoria Arciniega, whom he shares with Maria Arciniega, and Dania & Andrea Arciniega, whom he shares with his partner, Norma Galindo. He was a proud grandfather of Benjamin Baker.

Martin will be remembered for his strong work ethic. He had a longtime career at FedEx Express. Sometimes working two jobs at a time to provide for his family, he has also worked at Unimast Incorporated, Werner Company, Freight Masters and CAP Barbell.

Martin also valued education. With the support of his family at 16, he moved from Mexico to Chicago to attend Wells High School which he graduated from in 1989. After many life events, Martin had the opportunity to resume his studies and graduated in 2014 from Lakeland College with an Associates Degree achieving Summa Cum Laude honors. His values of hard work and education lives in his daughters who he will always remain proud of, for he never doubted in their brilliance, resilience, and ability to work hard and persevere.

Martin will be remembered for his positive outlook on life and giving manner. Even in his final moments, his family is comforted to know that his decision to be an organ donor will help save the life of others. He was a man of strong faith who believed in redemption. Above all, he will be remembered for his love of family. His children were his pride and joy.

Martin had a close relationship with his 5 sisters and 4 brothers. He cherished his time with his many nieces and nephews.

His family expresses their gratitude to all the doctors, nurses, and staff at Saint Joseph Hospital, Joliet for their compassionate care during his final moments. His daughters would especially like to thank all the family and friends who traveled from near and far to be with Martin, those who have expressed their condolences and those who chose to help donate.

The funds raised will help his family cover the funeral services and medical costs.
