My name is Susan and I’m writing about my beautiful sister Marti.  Many of you will know her from Steilacoom High School as Marti Duncan.  Right now she is battling Pulmonary Fibrosis and her right lung has stopped functioning while her left lung does carry the disease, it’s still functioning.  She is in need of a lung transplant and is currently on the transplant list. 

Marti is 49 years old, single, and currently lives in Belton, Texas.  She has worked hard to become a nurse and she was good at her vocation.  She has a handsome wonderful son Bryan who starts college in the fall.  Her family loves her and we’re asking, if you can do it, to help.  In addition to your help we also need your prayers!  This battle, for Marti, is long and yes, without this transplant her life will be shortened.

Here’s a little bit more about what she has endured the last year or so.  In 2014 she had part of her right and left lung removed (the damaged areas), she was then placed on part time oxygen.  Then in 2015, we almost lost Marti when she went septic and her kidneys were shutting down.  She was placed on life support and by a miracle she is with us today.  This is when they discovered that her right lung function was non-existent.  She is currently on full time oxygen.  Due to all of this, she has had to have multiple hospital stays.  She pays for her own insurance, doesn’t qualify for Medicaid or Medicare, the only money she receives is her disability check and that has to go to living expenses.

She maybe currently single but with all of us around she’s not alone.  I am asking for any support you might be able to give.  I’m also asking for people to leave a message for her here on the Go Fund Me page so she can see she’s not alone and she’s loved.

I want you to know that this fund is for the express purpose of helping Marti with her mounting medical expenses.
