Martha’s Double Amputation Recovery

Donation protected

On December 23rd, Martha had a life changing moment that flipped her world and her families world upside down. Due to unforeseen circumstances, she was rushed to the hospital due to her having leg complications.

Once at the hospital it was found she had multiple blood clots in her right leg. After multiple surgeries to get her leg back to normal, unfortunately the procedures did not work. And they determined her blood was no longer circulating, and her leg could not be saved. To avoid further complications her  right leg was then amputated to above her mid thigh.

Unfortunately, that was not the worst case. Soon doctors found she had now also developed blood clots in her left leg. They had to amputate her left leg just shy of her knee.

Martha has been in the hospital since before Christmas. While in the hospital she contracted covid, is dealing with depression due to being unable to see anyone due to hospital covid regulations, as well as the drastic life changes of having her legs amputated.

She is set to be released from the hospital and is being sent home. Unfortunately, she is undocumented and her insurance will not pay for items she now needs at home. She is now in need of a hospital style bed, as well as a wheelchair.

Martha strength and determination is the reason she is still here. She’s trying to stay strong for her two young children of 16 and 8 years of age, as well as her husband who is now left with being the sole provider for their household.

There are many hurdles she will have to overcome; the financial burden should not be one of them. Any donations received will go to Martha and her family to assist with the abundant medical bills for her hospitalization, the forthcoming countless office visits, multitude of therapies both physical and psychological and finally functional prosthetics, that we hope will assist in providing her the best quality of life.

We send our deepest gratitude to the many health care workers involved, in assisting Martha as well as all other patients through these hard times.

We thank you in advance for your prayers and support. Any donation would be greatly appreciated. If you are unable to donate, please share this link. Thank you!
