Martha's Breast Cancer Journey

To know Martha is to love her. She is a kind, compassionate, and generous person who has a smile that will light up any room. Earlier this summer Martha was diagnosed with breast cancer. This was devastating news to a single mother of four children and who has no immediate family in the U.S. 

This week Martha took the first step in her breast cancer journey by having a lengthy surgery to remove the cancer tissue. There have been some challenges since surgery and recovery and healing is imperative for Martha. 

The financial aspect of things is the last thing I want her to worry about. Her income will be reduced to 60% for 12 weeks and nothing thereafter. Due to the strenuous and physical work that Martha does each day, she cannot work until her body is ready to handle that type of work again. It is likely the chemotherapy will also be part of her treatment plan.

I want to ask each of you to help in anyway that you can, even if its $5. Martha is so deserving of financial help during this difficult time. These funds will all be given directly to Martha to help with any medical bills, unpaid leave of absence and anything else she needs to make her life easier.
