Hello, my name is Angel Pastor, I received the worst news yesterday. My dad’s sister suffered a brain aneurysm.

 

It was Father’s Day, getting preparation done for the day to spend with the family. She was making a call to her husband in Peru, to wish him and all the fathers, a happy Father’s Day. She went to shower to get ready, and fell to the ground. Immediately when we heard the loud bang we went to check on her. She was unconscious, luckily we had a family member who is CPR certified and began to perform CPR on her until the paramedics arrived. Once they arrived they took over, they intubated her on the field. They were not able to find a pulse, they shocked her heart twice and still no pulse. They transported her to JFK Hospital where they found her pulse and lost twice but found it again. They were able to stabilize her to begin testing. Doctor said her blood pressure was beyond low. They gave her two of the strongest medications to raise her blood pressure. Her body was not reacting to the medication. But the doctors were able to stabilize her long enough to run a CAT scan. The CAT scan showed that there was a brain aneurysm which bursted and filled her brain with blood. Due to that blood in her brain is what caused her to fall in the shower. After the results from the CAT scan, the doctor informed us that there’s absolutely nothing they could do to save her. We were able to say our last goodbyes. She passed at 11:02pm.

 

Martha was a very hard working woman. Always willing to lend a helping hand to her family. She always made sure everyone was stable in good health and care. She is survived by her two children Joel, Mila & William. Martha wasn't just a mother, she was a daughter, sister and a friend to many. She’s always been there for my family and I for as long as I could remember. I remember her cooking for us after school, if one of us got sick, or just to compete with my dads cooking. She loved dancing.

 

We are trying to raise money to be able to send her to Peru to rest alongside one of her sons who passed away in a similar situation 11 years ago.

Hola, mi nombre es Ángel Pastor, ayer recibí la peor noticia. La hermana de mi papá sufrió un aneurisma cerebral.

 

Era el Día del Padre, preparándonos para el día para pasarlo en familia. Ella estaba haciendo una llamada a su esposo en Perú, para desearle a él y a todos los padres, un feliz Día del Padre. Fue a darse un baño para arreglarse y cayó al suelo. Inmediatamente cuando escuchamos el fuerte golpe fuimos a verla. Estaba inconsciente, afortunadamente teníamos un familiar certificado en RCP y comenzó a realizarle RCP hasta que llegaron los paramédicos. Una vez que llegaron se hicieron cargo, la entubaron en el campo. No pudieron encontrarle el pulso, le aplicaron descargas al corazón dos veces y aún no tiene pulso. La transportaron al Hospital JFK donde encontraron su pulso y lo perdieron dos veces pero lo encontraron de nuevo. Pudieron estabilizarla para comenzar las pruebas. El doctor dijo que su presión arterial estaba muy baja. Le dieron dos de los medicamentos más fuertes para elevar su presión arterial. Su cuerpo no estaba reaccionando a la medicación. Pero los médicos pudieron estabilizarla el tiempo suficiente para realizarle una tomografía computarizada. La tomografía computarizada mostró que había un aneurisma cerebral que estalló y llenó su cerebro de sangre. Debido a que la sangre en su cerebro es lo que hizo que se cayera en el baño. Después de los resultados de la tomografía computarizada, el médico nos informó que no podían hacer absolutamente nada para salvarla. Pudimos decir nuestro último adiós. Ella falleció a las 11:02 pm.

 

Martha era una mujer muy trabajadora. Siempre dispuesta a dar una mano amiga a su familia. Ella siempre se aseguró de que todos estuvieran estables con buena salud y cuidados. Le sobreviven sus dos hijos Joel, Mila y William. Martha no era solo una madre, era una hija, hermana y amiga para muchos. Ella siempre ha estado ahí para mi familia y para mí desde que tengo memoria. La recuerdo cocinando para nosotros después de la escuela, si uno de nosotros se enfermaba, o simplemente para competir con la cocina de mi papá. Le encantaba bailar.

 

Estamos tratando de recaudar dinero para poder enviarla a Perú a descansar junto a uno de sus hijos que falleció en una situación similar hace 11 años.
