Martha Irene Deering

Hi my name is Jon Deering and I'm raising funds to assist my father Terrell Deering with my mother's final expenses. As many of you know, we lost my mom tragically and with little warning on July 2, 2022. I left for my certified nursing assistant class that morning like I always do, got to enjoy breakfast with her but had no idea it would be the last time I saw my mom consious and in good spirits. There was no indicator that something so catastrophic was about to occur. Many of you can probably hear my mom speaking sternly to your student, "...I said forte, you did not play the forte on that measure..." And I hope we can all look back on those words and smile. Unfortunately financial planning, saving and setting my dad up for this event was not her forte.

That being said my father was left to manage final arrangements himself. Since that day I've seen him combing over the books and talking to various creditors in an attempt to cut costs anywhere possible. I can tell from distant observation that a great deal of stress is bearing down on him. He is trying his best to stay strong and get past this awful stage of life and I realized anything I can do to help ease that tension would be the best gift I can give him. With hospital costs, mortuary and cremation services, and the fact that we just weren't ready for her to leave I am setting the fund raising goal at $25,000.

Lastly I wanted to say thank you to all the students she has had along the way. I wish there were a way I could reach out and find each and every one of them. All of you were so important to her. You weren't just a source of income. She took incredible passion in what she did for a living and taught with the intention of teaching not just collecting a paycheck. We ask that if any of you were referrals from a student of yesteryear or know another piano family member who may not be aware of her passing or this campaign that you help me get the word out. On behalf of Mom, Dad, my brother Timmy, the seven grandchildren and myself, we love all of you and thank you for being a part of our lives.
