Marta's Kidney Transplant

Hi Family and Friends,

I am fundraising for my mom, Marta Yount (Leggett). Last year, Marta was diagnosed with kidney failure. Since then, she’s been on dialysis and started the long journey of finding a kidney donor. This year, she got the life‐changing news that my cousin/her niece, Dorothy, is a match. Our family is so thankful for her and this selfless act.

As many know, Marta is one in a million. She’s a loving mom, grandmother, aunt, and friend to so many. We want to help ease the burden of large medical bills that come with a surgery like this, that insurance does not cover, as well as help cover the cost of hotels and travel expenses for Dorothy and family during surgery and recovery.

For those willing to donate, we are incredibly grateful. Surgery is scheduled for May 24th at Vidant Health in Greenville, North Carolina. Any size donation will help make a difference to someone who means the world to so many people.
