Oi pessoal!
Estou muito feliz de ter me classificado para os Jogos Olimpicos no nosso pais! Estou com muitissima vontade de fazer o meu melhor e sei que isso sera possivel com a torcida de voces! Aqui estao umas informaçoes em ingles sobre a minha situaçao atual e espero que voces possam me ajudar!
I am Marta Baeza, a sabre fencer from Brazil. I was born in Rio in 1992 and have been fencing since the age of 10. Last month my biggest dream has come true: I will be representing Brazil in the Olympic Games in Rio, not only my home country but also my home town!
However, even though I am unbelievably happy about this I now want to fulfil my next dream - to not only participate but furthermore win the Olympic Games! The Brazilian fencing Federation cannot fund most of my expenses, which include the Panamerican Championships for me and my coach, the training camps that will take place in the next six weeks of preparation and the costs for my coach to be with me during the Olympic Games. In order to win a medal for Brazil, these are all crucial. Firstly because the Panamerican Championships will affect my draw for the Olympic Games and secondly because preparing with the best in the world, and of course, my coach, will be vital to performing at the Games. In fencing, the role of coach is crucial before and during the fight - and I've been training with Jon Salfield, my World Class coach, for the past four years and know that with him by my side I have a good chance of winning.
Whilst looking for a long term sponsor, I would be grateful if I could raise 5000€ for the most urgent expenses. This would be fundamental towards giving me the best chance to make myself, and the whole Brazilian crowd, hear our national anthem. During this Olympic Cycle I have learnt that when you work as a team anything is possible and I would love it if you were part of mine!
