Hi, my name is Alejandra Espinel and I am Marta's niece. About a month ago we discovered that Marta had an aggressive form of cancer called Glioblastoma which is a kind of brain cancer. Currently, she is living in Canada with her son Santy with no way to work or make money. Alone and scared she waited until the very last minute to seek treatment. It was not until my mom, her sister, flew to Canada that she finally went to the hospital practically on her deathbed. With help from amazing doctors and wonderful nurses, she was able to get surgery and will soon begin chemotherapy. Unfortunately, the timing could not have been worse. Currently, in the middle of her humanitarian process, she has no steady job or income. Now sick and in the hospital she has no way of paying for her living expenses such as rent and utilities. Until she can get help from the government, we hope to raise funds so that she and her son can keep their home during this trying time.
