Marshmallow's Hope: Surgery for a Better Life
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Amy, and this is my cat Marshmallow. Marshmallow has had a really hard life. When he was a kitten, he had an owner who moved and decided to leave him behind. He was outside on the street for months until he was captured by the neighbors and taken to the vet for immediate care. One of the neighbors agreed to foster him until he found his forever home. The neighbor was unable to keep him due to having two cats of her own. I was looking for a cat to add to our family and that is how Marshmallow found his forever home. We have had Marshmallow since November 2024, and he has brought nothing but joy to our family. After three months of having him, I took Marshmallow to the vet thinking that he had scratched his ear, and I found out that he had ruptured a polyp that was growing in his ear. The vet told me that it would need to be surgically removed and that he was deaf in that ear. I was provided with a list of specialists that would be able to surgically remove Marshmallow's polyp. I was able to make an appointment the same week to see the specialist. The specialist did a thorough physical examination, and he confirmed that Marshmallow was indeed deaf. It was then that I was given devastating news. Marshmallow had a mass growing in his ear and they needed to do more test before they could perform surgery. He would need a CT scan, blood work, and X-rays. When I was given the estimated bill, I almost started to cry. There was no way a single mom with a 14-year-old son living on a little more than minimum wage could afford such costly procedures by myself. Those who know me know that I would never ask for anything unless if it was a dire situation. I am asking to please help Marshmallow to live a long happy life. If you can please pass this link along to family and friends, it would be appreciated beyond words. Any and all donations and well wishes would help. Thank you so much for allowing me to tell Marshmallow's story!
