Marshall McQuivey FightingBlindness

Donation protected
Three weeks ago on Jan. 17th, our 14 year-old son Marshall McQuivey was told by an optometrist that his vision was degrading  rapidly, and he needed a specialist to verify his condition. The appointment was supposed to be in 2 weeks, but within days, Marshall's blurry vision worsened. Far away objects were getting harder to discern. He has to have things very close to his face to see detail. The visit was moved to the next day, Feb. 1st, where the specialist determined this was severe Keratoconus (where the front of the eye bulges forward). He also said that emergency surgery was the only option to possibly slow the progression- it will happen this Feb. 13th. Marshall will be able to wear glasses that will help, but his eyesight will most likely continue to degrade, requiring constant visits to the eye doctors, and new prescription glasses each time his vision worsens.
This surgery is not covered under our family insurance, and will cost at minimum $7,000.00, plus all the visits and consultations combined. We both  work full-time, and have no other resources for such a large amount.
We are hoping to raise the amount by the summer of 2018.
Any donation will be more than appreciated, and we also thank you for any good thoughts or prayers sent toward our son and family.
