Marshall Fire! Help our family rebuild the home!
Donation protected
Joe has been in his house in Louisville since 2008. He and his boys were joined by Sarah and her boys so it was a true BradyBunch style house, 4 boys and 1 (female) dog to round it all out. Our lives were in this house. There were ups and downs, but the house was a stable place.
Tragedy struck on Dec 30th. The Marshall fire swept thru unexpectedly. Within the space of an hour, the situation went from "oh a fire 10 miles away" to the police on a megaphone getting people to evacuate. The scope and scale was not able to be perceived and we fled the house with just the dog (the boys were at their other parents place luckily) and the clothes on our backs. All our special memories, pictures, lockets of baby hair and everything is gone.
While everyone is stoic and forging on, we are in shock. It is hard to imagine that everything is gone. We have insurance, but that doesn't begin to cover the cost of putting back together our lives. Slowly, we will be able to replace the physical items, but the other ones - they are gone forever.
We are grateful if you donate anything, no matter what. We really appreciate all the support we have gotten from everyone. Insurance will cover the items eventually and this fund will help us get thru the short term situation and all those things (winter clothes! a beanie!) that we don't realize we don't have.
thank you all
Joe and Sarah
