On October 29, 2018, the Marsh family suffered the unexpected and devastating loss of their family home. My Aunt and Uncle, coming home from work, came upon barricades blocking their street with 5 fire engines within; the horror in realizing that it was their home completely engulfed in flames. They rushed through the barriers searching for their daughter whom they left at home.By the grace of God, their daughter had made it out of the blaze safely, however, 3 of the family’s beloved dogs perished in the fire. The home with all their memories and momento’s was completely lost.
Seeking aid from from the Red Cross, they were given a few hundred dollars for lodging and food for a couple of days, blankets and a voucher for clothing from charities such as Good Will, Salvation Army and private local thrift shops. Unfortunately, every charity refused to honor the vouchers.
This fund is being launched by Rochelle Vigil, their niece, appealing to extended family and the community, attempting to raise funds for providing urgent and immediate relief in regards to shelter, food and clothing.
At 69 years of age, my aunt and uncle are understandably experiencing stress and concern as to their ability at their age, to recover from this extreme disaster. My family and I would be ever-so-grateful, for any support you could offer during this crucial time. If you are unable to make a donation at this time, simply sharing this thread could make a world of difference. God bless.
To my family:
I know you feel broken, so I won’t tell you to have a wonderful day. Instead I whisper these words to you, “just hold on”. As the darkest days of grief start to get less, the sun will rise again for you.
