Marra’s Leg Surgery
Three years ago my parent’s dog, Gigi, passed away. She was my dad’s heart and soul and I watched him crumble as his best friend left him behind. He did not want another dog. This, he was adamant about. Life continued on but I knew their hearts still ached. Well fast forward to a few months ago when little miss Marra came along. My dad had a little buddy again. Marra became his new co-worker, new camp tag-along and new little side kick. Though nothing can filled Gigi’s void, Marra certainly filled his heart within the first minute of meeting her.
Those who have met Marra know she’s nothing short of WILD and does not seem to know what fear feels like. Today, Marra decided to take flight off of the back patio while playing with Molly. She landed in the worst way possible. My poor dad heard the pop and yelps and scooped his new baby girl up into his arms.
Marra is currently staying the next few days at Cornell. As of now, we know she fractured her back leg. We pray nothing more is found but the orthopedic will be in tomorrow.
My parents are humble, hard working, and would never ask for help but I am. This year has been the worst year for my family. They do not need this extra burden/fear/pain in their life. Marra needs surgery at the very least. Please help me make this a little easier on them. The vet bill will be much higher than this goal but any amount will help. I owe them my entire life. Cheryl and Dave Sawyer are the kindest people you will ever meet. They give their friends and family so much. They give their animals just as much. Please help me help them.
Marra is only 5 months old with so much life ahead of her. The better care she receives now, the better life she can live .
