MARQUISE TURNER
Donation protected
Dear Sir/Madam,
This past Christmas Eve on December 24, 2023, my son, Marquise D. Turner was shot and left for dead in New Orleans, LA. The injury is severe and has resulted in his paralysis. In an instant, this young and highly enthusiastic individual’s life and potential has taken a tragically unexpected turn.
The bullet is lodged into his cervical spine and cannot be removed. Marquise is required to undergo intense treatment and therapy to strengthen fine motor skills, as well as relearn how to talk, walk, and perform basic daily living skills The trauma that Marquise is experiencing could last a lifetime. The recovery for him will be long and painful.
Marquise loves to read books and gaining knowledge is important to him. He has always believed that to become a good teacher, one must strive to be a better student. Marquise has studied various subjects such as biology and pre-medicine (at Xavier University of Louisiana), epidemiology and biostatistics (at LSU public health school), and clinical psychological assessment at (Vanderbilt Peabody of Human Development and Education). Aside from the universities and academic settings, Marquise also has trained, led, and managed hospitality, and healthcare teams.
Marquise pursued his dreams to help and to teach others; however, it is he who now requires help. The benevolence and monetary gifts that are received on his behalf will allow for the required treatment and procedural care for his recovery, as well as for the maintenance of equipment needed upon Marquise’s arrival back home. Marquise must have 24-hour care to assist him with proper treatment including: hygiene, cleanliness, proper nutrition, and physical and mental care and treatment.
We are seeking to raise $85,000 and we need your help to reach this goal. Your contribution will ensure that Marquise’s Road to recovery will become a reality. We greatly appreciate your donation, and we thank you in advance.
