Marques Boles Recovery Fund

Donation protected
On Saturday June 25th, while vacationing in Puerto Vallarta Mexico with family, Marques' esophagus ruptured while eating breakfast. He was rushed to the hospital, underwent an endoscopic procedure and was diagnosed with a Mallory-Weiss tear. Doctors also revealed that his CT scans showed fluid build up and air in his lungs due to the esophageal rupture, causing fluids from his esophagus and stomach to leak onto his lungs.

Due to the severity of his condition and to protect his lungs from anymore damage, doctors decided to place him into a medically induced coma. While in this state, doctors were able to place an endoscopic stent at the exact location of the tear and suction the fluid/pus from his lungs. Since his vitals and lung function was slowly improving, doctors made the decision to bring him out of the induced coma on July 5th and a few days later, inserted a feeding tube and was removed from the ventilator all together but still receiving oxygen.

Marques will continue to be hospitalized in Mexico until he regains his strength (muscle atrophy from being induced/prolonged bed rest) and when his lungs are healthy enough to fly back home on a commercial flight. The battle unfortunately doesn't stop there since he will need weeks of occupational/physical therapy and his esophagus to heal completely before returning to work.

His family and I started this GoFundMe page to reduce the financial burden on Marques. All donations received will be used for medical, travel and living expenses. As the organizer, I will be receiving the donations on behalf of Marques and place it into an account that he has direct access to. It's going to be a long road of recovery for Marques and any help will be much appreciated.
