First, we want to Thank Shannon for creating this page for us. Thank you for your thoughtfulness and kindness. We love you Shannon. Second we want to Thank each one of you for your Prayers, for reading this, for your Support and for your donations. We would not be able to make it through this difficult time without help from all of you. Thank you! Finally, Here is Eric's story...... Eric was seen in ER in November 2014 for abdominal pain. They sent him home with a pain med and referrals. He then had some testing and scans. He was then diagnosed with Colon Cancer, but we didn't know much at that point. On November 21, 2014 he had the tumor removed along with many lymph nodes and part of his colon. They removed a mass the size of a clementine (small orange). He did great with the surgery and was able to come home after a few days. He recovered very well from surgery and didn't have any complications. He finally saw his oncologist in early January. This is when we found out the cancer had spread to the lymph nodes. He was then diagnosed with stage 3 Colon Cancer due to he size of the tumor and the number of lymph nodes that had cancer. The plan was and is to go at this aggressively. Mid January 2015 Eric started chemotherapy. The plan is for 6 months chemotherapy treatment. He has chemo every other week (twice a month and a total of 12 treatments). He goes in for chemo on Wednesday for 2 drugs , which takes about 3 hours. Then he is sent home "hooked" up with the 3rd drug for 2 days. He then gets "unhooked" on Fridays from the 3rd drug. He usually feels ok during the first day or so of treatment. He starts to feel "icky" about Thursday. This "icky-ness" feeling lasts 3-5 day, but it is starting to last longer. He is also EXTREMELY tired all the time. His Dr. calls this "Chemo Coma"-LOL. The farther along he gets into treatment the longer the "icky" feeling is lasting and the more exhausted and tired he is getting. So he has now had to stop working for now, so he is on short term disability for the rest of his treatment. He also struggles with many other side effects from the drugs (i.e. neuropathy, being cold, hair loss, other pains and discomforts, etc.). This is certainly taking a toile on Eric and his body. However he is taking it like a Champ. He's my SUPER HERO!!! We want to Thank each of you for reading his/our story. Thank you for your prayers and support. If any of you have any questions please ask and we are more than happy to answer them.
