Marnie Needs to Get Something Off Their Chest

My name is Marnie. I'm 32 years old  and I live in Brooklyn, NY.  It took me about 30 years to realize I'm nonbinary. 

It feels weird to write about this so publicly, but my entire life I've been incredibly uncomfortable with my chest. Even after coming out as nonbinary, it took me a while to fully understand that my gender identity is intrinsically linked to how I feel about my chest. It's not just that clothes don't fit or look the way I want them to, or that my posture is so terrible because I'm always hunched over, trying to minimize my chest. It's that my chest is constantly and relentlessly at odds with my identity. My chest is big enough that binding has never been an effective or satisfying option for me.  I so badly want to be able to carry myself comfortably and happily. Gender-affirming top surgery is the only way I can move my body through life with dignity and pride. I need this surgery.

So I'm super pumped to finally be able to schedule my top-surgery for mid-March/April 2021. My insurance doesn't completely cover the surgery, so I'm trying to raise funds to cover the difference without going into debt. Anything you want to contribute is a huge help. Thank you!
