Marlie the Brentwood Wonder Dog was rescued from the Martinez shelter along with 3 siblings that were up for euthanasia. All four dogs were rescued by different rescue groups just in the nick of time. Marlie was rescued by H.A.R.P. (homeless animal response program). He was scared at first in his foster home but soon started thriving playing with toys and his foster westie brothers . His foster parents found he was potty trained and very sweet but still shy with new pepole at first. He got neutered and was ready for adoption day! On December 6th during adoption day a volunteer took him to go potty but got scared and wiggled out of his collar. He ran across 6 lanes of traffic but luckily didn't get hit. His foster parents along with other volunteers and good samaritans tried to catch him but was too fast. His rescue H.A.R.P along with foster parents and whole Brentwood community along with contra costa area came together to find Marlie. People shared him on social media and made flyers and countless hours of searching with no luck. After three days being on his own in the cold with no food and water he was spotted and good samaritans tried to stop traffic so he wouldn't get hit but unfortunely he was hit by a car and rushed to er vet. He hurt his eye area and cuts and bruises and worst of all has broken his pelvis and might need surgery but he needs a CT scan first to tell. He has 6 fractures in his pelvis, 4 will heal on own but two might need surgery but need the CT scan to know for sure. His medical costs so far are adding up and H.A.R.P. needs to raise at least 3,000 dollars to cover the CT scan. If he does need surgery that could be 4,000-6,000 dollars on top of that coming in at worst case scenero 9,000.This doesn't include his initial visits to vet, medication etc. This little guy needs a new chance at life. He was given a bad hand at life and would love to change that! Please donate towards his medical care so we can get this little wonderdog up on his feet!
