Marlie Barlow Memorial
Donation protected
As many of you know, our noted town historian and photographer, Marlie Barlow, is no longer with us. Over the many years of his life, he blessed us all with stories of his growing up on the streets of Soldiers Grove. Without his many personal photographs, as well as his large collection of historical Grove photographs taken by various earlier photographers, much of the history of Grove would have been lost. He also published two photo/story books, which many people purchased, and was in the process of writing a third when he passed away. His stories were enlightening to all and brought out our own cherished memories of growing up in that lil ole town in the "valley"!
We’d like to preserve his collection of memorabilia and photos, by getting them shipped from California back to Grove where they belong. In addition, it has been suggested that we remember Marlie with a memorial stone in his honor in the former downtown area, which he dearly loved.
We’re reaching out to all who knew Marlie through his stories and photos to make a contribution toward the cost of getting his collections back to Grove, as well as to the memorial in his honor. Any and all contributions will help in this effort.
