Marley’s Savings Stolen: Be Her Light
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Shellie Brown. I'm fundraising for Marley, my son Cody’s hardworking, kind-hearted girlfriend. Marley juggles nearly full-time hours at Trader Joe’s, babysits for a family who adores her, and pet-sits regularly; all while putting herself through college. She’s been carefully saving to buy a car, managing her finances with impressive diligence.
Recently, Marley found what seemed like the perfect opportunity: a car for sale through a longtime friend’s family. It felt safe, familiar, and like everything was finally lining up. But in a devastating turn, it turned out to be a sophisticated scam. In an instant, all her hard-earned savings were gone.
Marley did everything right: she’s cautious, responsible, and constantly on guard in today’s digital world. But scammers know how to strike when people are vulnerable and hopeful. Watching this happen to someone so deserving is heartbreaking.
We can’t undo what happened, but we can show Marley that the world still has good in it. That even in moments of loss, kindness and community can lift someone back up. If you’re able to donate, no matter the amount, it would mean the world to her and to all of us who care about her.
Thank you for helping us turn something painful into a reminder of human generosity.
