My name is Marlene and I am sixty years old. I live in San Francisco, California where I have been a preschool teacher for over ten years. I was diagnosed with breast cancer in November 2023. This shocking devastating news has put so much strain on me not only emotionally but financially as well. My husband is disabled and I am the sole provider for us. Unfortunately, I am unable to work at this time as I am undergoing chemotherapy. Additionally, I've always had issues with my liver but due to the chemo, I have now developed cirrhosis. I have applied for disability but it is not enough to cover all of my expenses including medical, rent, food, transportation, etc.
