Marlene Kinney Memorial Fund to benefit Arrie
Marlene Kinney, 63, died at Beaufort Memorial Hospital on May 26, 2020 following a massive heart attack. She was born in Jacksonville, NC on May 4, 1957 but called Beaufort home since first grade. She graduated from Battery Creek High School in 1975 and earned her BA degree in accounting from Shepherd University in West Virginia in 1985.
Marlene worked for the State of South Carolina Department of Revenue for over 20 years before retiring in 2012. She loved gardening for many years and prided herself in her beautiful yard. She was a Girl Scout leader and an advocate for the 22Q community. Most importantly, she was a wonderful mother to her daughter Arriebelle. Together, Arriebelle and Marlene traveled extensively and enjoyed working as extras in locally filmed movies.
Marlene is survived by her daughter Arriebelle, mother June Kinney, sisters Connie Kinney Cormier (Don), Sharon Kinney Domeracki, and brother Frankie Kinney (Sunny). She will be missed by her nieces and nephews Brian (Candy), Rachel (Will), and Amanda Cormier, John Domeracki (Joanna) and Ashley Domeracki Pickens (Justin), and several great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her baby son James Gregory, brother Brett Kinney, and father Frank S. Kinney.
Due to the current healthcare circumstances and quarantine requirements, a private service will be held for immediate family on June 1, 2020. A Celebration of Life will held for Marlene at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to this GoFundMe account or to the Arrie Marlene Kinney Fund currently being setup at Regions Bank. In the meantime, donations can be made payable to Donald Cormier, her guardian, at 35 Morning Glory Drive, Beaufort, SC 29906.
