My name is Vanessa and I am doing this fundraiser to help Holli Souder (daughter) during this tough time of her mother’s passing. It is with deep sadness creating this fundraiser to help towards the cremation of Marlene Souder.
Small Recap:
As many of you are aware Marlene was an outstanding human being with a heart of gold. She lit up any room she walked into. Marlene was such an easy going person, lovable and compassionate. I had the honor to have Marlene in my life for the past 11 years. She quickly became family.
Where it all begins.
In March 2020 when Covid started Marlene was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer. This changed her whole life and everyone’s that surrounded her. We prayed and hoped for the best and in September 2020 she rang that bell. Thinking cancer was no longer present. But, soon to find out at her appointment in October 2022 with her oncologist that she possibly only had about 6 months left to live. This was so hard to take in. A very sad day to hear someone say this. But, chemo wasn't doing much since Marlene had congestive heart failure. So the oncologist started radiation for a bit. Cancer was still present and spreading like wild fire. Marlene was broken and in so much pain. She didn’t continue chemo or radiation after this bc the oncologist didn’t think she would survive another surgery. The pain she was going through was unbearable. She started to slowly decline. Following up at her doctors and living her life the best she could.. The 6 month mark was up in April and Marlene was still fighting like the warrior that she was. Holli planned a family vacation and took her to her favorite place (the beach.) Even though Marlene wasn’t strong enough to physically walk on the beach she enjoyed the beach from the balcony of her room. She was so blessed and happy to be able to be with her family at the beach. Holli never left her mothers side. She cherished every single day she had left with her mom. And gave her mom the best moments she could ask for. Every day, week, month that went by was a blessing to still have her here.
But it wasn’t until May 2023 that hospice got involved. Marlenes health was declining rapidly. Holli stopped working in mid June to help her mother in all that she could. She assisted Marlene 24/7 and never left her side. July rolls around and Marlene wasn't able to walk on her own anymore with out any assistance. But she was making the best out every situation. Besides this everything was going. Marlene was full of energy and even did a little bit of online shopping (her favorite.) Monday July 31st rolls around and Marlene couldn't wake up, barely move. Everything changed over night. All she wanted to do was sleep and from there she declined at an incredible fast rate and she then started having trouble breathing. Come August 3rd around 2:25 pm Marlene took her last breath. She left peacefully. She no longer is agonizing pain. Marlene left us all with a broken heart. We will forever remember her. Gone too soon but never forgotten. She touched many lives. As she did mine. I will forever be grateful for all the love my babies and I endured from her. May she be soaring high and watching over all of us. Especially Holli and her grand babies Ariana and Emmett. May she REST IN PEACE.

Let us all come together and help Holli during this time. This is a financial struggle no one ever wants to have. But any little bit helps & is greatly appreciated. Thank you
