Marlena In ICU

This is Ashley. I’m creating the fundraiser for Marlenas family while they can gather their thoughts. For those that don’t know me, I’ve been a part of their family for over 20 years. I was in distress and quick to put something up. Now with a clear mind… 

Marlena just 36 years old went into ICU early Sunday morning. She was not fully coherent but still some what stable. Marlena wasn’t feeling well as Saturday night progressed. 911 was called later in the night. She made it into the ambulance and then slowly started to fade. After being examined, her brain damage and swelling wasn’t safe to operate. The doctors do not think she will recover. 

She is currently being kept alive by machines. The doctors have said she is gone. But if you know Marlena, a miracle can happen. She is being seen by the best, they did what they could through last night and today. It’s been very emotional as the doctors have been firm with what they can and cannot do. Marlena has a strong support system and many fighting for her. Insisting on better answers.

I’m asking on behalf of Marlenas family for donations for medical bills, plane tickets for her younger brother to see her and other expenses. The doctors have said to get their affairs in order for a memorial service. Anything that you can donate is appreciated. Even if that’s kind words or a prayer. 

All donations will be given to Marlenas immediate family! I am just organizing this so her family can focus on getting family from out of town here, process this and spend their time at the hospital.

For those asking, she can have visitors - we are asking only close friends and family as they only allow 2 visitors at a time. Please keep in mind she is unresponsive. This may be hard for some to see. 

- Sunday a.m we were notified Marlena was gone. I talked with family, went to the hospital where they confirmed her health declined to a point where it’s not operable. Leaving everyone with frustration, loss, and sadness. We asked all options and alternatives to save her. 

Sunday p.m Her status remained the same. At this point, we wanted to get this up so family and friends could say their goodbyes. 

- Monday morning: Things look the same but more hopeful. Hoping more eyes on her and more time in ICU could change the outcome. With more questions and pressure we received some answers leading to very high risk outcomes. 

I know there’s some confusion of Marlenas state right now. She is in ICU. She is on a ventilator. Machines are keeping her alive and her heart is beating on its own. She is unresponsive . All prayers for our very loved Marlena is appreciated!
