Fundraising for Juniper’s cystotomy surgery

Hi everyone, I (Marlee) really don’t like to ask other’s for help but I will be vulnerable to help my sweet kitty Juniper.

Juniper is suddenly in need of a cystotomy surgery due to the discovery of bladder stones that were found during an emergency exam at the veterinary hospital on August 18th, 2023.

She has been having pain and difficulties urinating while also having blood found in the urine. Although Juniper has been prescribed a lifetime special diet to help attempt to dissolve those stones and prevent future stones developing, they still pose a high risk while dissolving for a urinary obstruction to happen which can be fatal if not detected ASAP. Until the surgery can be done she needs to be closely monitored to ensure she is still able to urinate and no blockage is present.

The veterinary hospital has recommended to have a cystotomy surgery booked with Juniper’s regular vet clinic to remove the remaining stones as it would be significantly cheaper than having it done at the veterinary hospital underneath an emergency booking in the case of a full urinary obstruction. This surgery has been booked for this coming Wednesday, August 23rd 2023. Our vet has moved their schedule around to be able to get Juniper in as soon as possible.

That being said, the quote for the surgery from Juniper’s vet is still sitting between $3000-$4000.. that extra $1000 is depending on an extra 15 minutes of surgery time.

Cystotomy’s are supposedly fairly low risk surgeries with only the general related risks of surgery, not extremely complicated. It’s the related costs that make things hard. Any funds collected will go towards the costs of her surgery, the variance of surgery costs is $3000-$4000, as well as I’ve also already paid $1000 to the veterinary hospital today due the emergency exam, a urinalysis, and X-ray costs.

I really don’t expect to receive the full costs of these procedures but I would be so extremely grateful for anything I could receive to give us a leg up with what has been put on my plate to keep Juniper healthy and comfortable.
