Marleen (Kim's mom) medical costs

Marleen’s (Kim’s mom) surgery didn't go as planned. She went in for hip replacement surgery and during the procedure the surgeon broke her pelvis. Surgery #2 took place later that day when they put screws and additional hardware in to hold her pelvis together and then completed the hip replacement. This was another 4 hours under the knife at 71 years old. Surgery #3 took place 3 days later when they told us she needed a pacemaker put in.
To say her hip replacement surgery didn’t go as planned is an understatement. She is miserable and in extreme pain. She now has months of recovery and will be bedridden for at least six weeks. This time will need to be spent in a skilled nursing facility.
However, the way that her insurance works she will most likely be sent home after 2 to 3 weeks but will still need around-the-clock care for quite some time. She will also need some modifications to her home, for comfort and ease of care.
Bad things always seem to happen to the nicest people. Marleen is a loving mother of 5 children and she also has 8 grandchildren. Everyone that meets her loves her and she is a surrogate mother and grandmother to so many.
If you have met Kim Geddes she has a warmth, kindness and generosity that is unparalleled. She gets these traits from her mother, Marleen is a humble woman and would never ask anyone for money. That’s why I’m taking it upon myself to start this gofundme account. She has given so much in her life and I feel this is the least I can do for a woman I call mom.
For those that would like to help Marleen, no donation is too small and all are greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for your support in helping Marleen get the excellent care she so desperately needs. You are greatly appreciated!
