Hello everyone,
Marla, my mom is a mother of two deaf adults and also the proud GiGi to 2 beautiful grandchildren. We recently learned the devastating news that she was diagnosed with stage 4 colorectal cancer that had metastasized to her liver and lymph nodes. This news has been shocking and hard to swallow for my family. For those who know my mom, she is one strongwilled woman so I have no doubt she will battle this with everything she has.
My mom wasn’t feeling herself but was waiting for an upcoming appointment. One day, she had a sharp pain on her right side and was not able to handle the pain throughout the day. She decided to call her doctor about it and he brought her in right away. Mind you, she already had a colonoscopy appointment lined up for a future date. At the doctor’s office, they performed an x-ray and set up ultrasound 2 days later. The doctor found 2 masses on her liver area and wanted to get a CT scan done. Once the CT and colonoscopy were completed within a few days, the doctors confirmed it was cancer. The fast track to Froedtert had now begun. A final MRI showed 5 total tumors and lymph nodes affected. From there, her journey, our journey, fighting this battle has begun.
My mom has always helped others in need and put others first before herself. I would be very grateful if anyone could help out my mom in her time of need. I am looking for small donations to help out with my mom’s journey. She will need to have the surgery (possibly 3) at some point, chemotherapy and radiation and we all know that surprising costs arise, along with a lot of other expenses. Her employer and friends and family have been very supportive up to this point. Any donations can help ease her cancer battle, for her and my family as well.
