Firstly, I am going to introduce myself as Nina Pashia. My friend Cheryl Waldrop and I are raising money for our best friend's David and Shelly DeRousse's son Marky. Shelly, Cheryl, and I have been best friends since the age of twelve years old. We all have been there for one another through all of the ups and downs life has offered us. In this unfortunate circumstance, Cheryl and I have come together to create this campaign to help out with the expenses that Marky will be needing along his devastating journey. Now let me begin to tell you about this life changing devastation that has taken place. Our dear friends David and Shelly DeRousse are going through an overwhelming misfortune that no parent should ever have to endure.

On March 21, 2016, their second son Marky, who is the age of 26, was in a horrible car accident. He was flown to St. John's Mercy where he was told he had several broken bones including his shoulder, arm, and nose. Even worse was the tragic news that he may never be able to walk again do to the broken vertebrae and spinal cord injury in his back.  On March 23, 2016, Marky underwent spinal surgery to re-align his spine. He made it through the surgery and he still has no feeling from his belly button down. Marky is also expecting his first child in July. He said to me, " I may never even get to walk with my son." This is one of the many battles we all know that he may have to face in the future. All I can say is that he is still here with us and that he is a strong young man.  Along with having some of the most special people that Cheryl and I have ever met as parents. We are all hoping and praying that he will pull through this tragic experience and be able to walk again. 

Marky is still currently at St. John's Mercy where he will be having to undergo more surgeries to correct all of the damage that has been done.  This means that there will be even more doctors and even more expenses. This is more than this family should ever have to worry about. This is a very proud family that would NEVER ask for any help. But, Cheryl and I being parents ourselves know that we wouldn't want to have to leave our child in their time of need. However, all of these medical expenses and the day to day bills will soon be forcing them to. So, at this time we are not only asking for much needed and continued prayers. But, we are also asking for any donations to help this wonderful family out. We would be thankful beyond belief to be able to ease some of their worries. The amount of help doesn't matter anything helps in this long road ahead of them.
