Markus started his journey towards a KIDNEY transplant over 4 years ago with a smile on his face. There have been many ups and downs, twists and turns for him & Jennifer to overcome. There have been potential kidneys before, but each time something just wasn't right. But he never lost his smile. During this journey, he has been on dialysis, had multiple hospital stays, and had various other illnesses due to his immune system being compromised. And anytime he was asked how he was, he would say, "I'm Great".

They got the call yesterday that they both prayed would come. A donor kidney was available and it was a match. So the transplant was set in motion just yesterday evening. Markus and Jennifer arrived at Vanderbilt last night, surgery took place this morning, and the Transplant so far has been a success.

Markus and Jennifer still have a long journey ahead of them. Jennifer will be out of work as a LPN for a while so that she is with Markus to help him during his recovery. This can put a financial strain on any family. Not only will they have the stress of Jennifer being out of work, but the recovery itself will be lengthy, and the Anti-Rejection medications that Markus will be taking can be extremely expensive. He will have many doctor appointments to check his progress and his new kidney.

Jennifer and Markus are always the first ones to offer help to those that are in need. So this is the time that we can all help them for all of the kindness, love and devotion they have shown many of us in the past. If you are able to donate, please do. If not, please keep them in your prayers.
