Marktown Centennial Celebration

Donation protected
This year the Marktown Historic District will celebrate its 100th Anniversary.  The last time we celebrated an anniversary in Marktown was fifty years ago.  A group of past and present Marktown residents have gotten together to once again celebrate our neighborhood, and in doing so we hope to bring back many of the residents who have long ago left this most unique and endangered of communities. The event is scheduled for August 19th at the Marktown Community Center and the adjacent Marktown Park.

The purpose for the funding is to provide financial support for this event.  Fifty years ago funds were raised with BINGOs, Men’s Smokers and a variety of other events, none of which are viable today.  The receipt and expenditure of the funds will be managed by the Marktown Centennial Committee consisting of the following members:  Dan McArdle, Nanvy (Deiotte) Fink, Dave Balog, Councilman Robert Garcia, Kim (Unger) Rodriguez, Judy (Balog) Hicks, Mary Ellyn (Bossinger) Kozanda, Bobby Villa and Paul Myers.

We hope you will financially support our endeavors for this most unique Marktown Celebration .

We greatly appreciate your conribution to this most unique event.
