Team Romer, our fight against NHL
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Kim Houlihan and I am writing this on behalf of the 12U Northern Ice Girls Fast Pitch Softball team.
Our head coach Mark Romer has been recently diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. This is a type of cancer that attacks your immune system. Coach Mark will begin his first treatment in the next few weeks and will continue to receive treatments every 21 days for 4-6 months.
Coach Mark has been with the Northern Ice organization for 2 years and he has been instrumental in helping the organization teach softball to many young girls. He is always willing to spend additional time with the girls to help them achieve their potential on the softball field and is a great mentor off the field. Mark is like a second Dad to many of his players. He is also the first person to lend a helping hand when one of his player’s is in need. Although Coach Mark and his family have been dealt this difficult situation, with support from each of us, we will see him win this battle.
The 12U team will be selling bracelets to raise funds for The Romer family. 100% of the proceeds will be donated to the family to help pay for medical & living expenses. The bracelets are $2 each. Additionally donations can be made on the gofundme page set up for Coach Romer or checks can be made out directly to them.
Please reach out to me if you would like to purchase bracelets or if you have any questions. I can be contacted at [email redacted]
