Hey guys It’s Dystiny again! First I just wanted to say thank you thank you thank you to everyone that has shared, donated, helped out in ANY kind of way, even just the calls or texts mean so much and I can’t thank you guys enough. 

I just wanted to give everyone a quick update (Sorry I’m a little late) 

The Uncle’s are back home in KC for now but before they left MD Anderson in Texas they got good news for clearance to begin Uncle Marks “LoneStar” Trial. They started this trial on 5/26 and it will continue over the next 12 weeks. Week 6 is huge that’s the halfway mark and they will decide if the next steps include targeted radiation & chemo or more surgery. 

With the trial being for the next 12 weeks that means they have to travel back and forth from KC to Texas to go back to MD Anderson every 3 weeks, with that being said that can get super expensive really quick not to include medicine or any other expenses. Neither one of them are able to work at the moment due to their health conditions and we are doing everything as a family to try to help with what we can. 

Anything would be greatly appreciated even if it’s a share to spread the word.

Hey everyone, my name is Dystiny I am Uncle Mark & Uncle Buddy’s niece and as an entire family we have received some shocking news.

We recently just received news that Uncle Mark has Stage 4 aggressive Large Cell Neuroendocrine Carcinoma that started in the lungs and then unfortunately metastasized to the lymph nodes in his chest & the brain.

This has all happened very unexpectedly & fast, they have already been in touch with MD Anderson and wanted them to actually fly out and be there today 4/21 but it just wasn’t financially possible so quick. The next available appointment is on May 2nd to Houston, TX where this will be the first of many appointments for treatments for this very aggressive cancer. He begins radiation to the brain every other day starting 04/24 at the Kansas City Cancer Treatment Center.

Uncle Buddy also has his own issues dealing with Addison’s Disease, Congestive Heart Failure, and Renal Failure stage 3a so doctors have not released him to return to work. Uncle Mark has been working under contract but now with his health and his contract ending on April 28th he will not be able to pick up another contract as doctors have advised due to the aggressive treatment that he will need to be off for a minimum of a year. So not only do they have to worry about both of their medical expenses but also the travel costs to MD Anderson.

The uncles have helped us all in so many different ways & I would love if we could help them back if at all possible at least with some of it!

As a family nobody fights alone! Uncle’s are not just Uncle’s they have been like second dad’s to me. Uncle Mark is strong and he will fight his toughest battle & overcome this and we will be by their side every step of the way!
