Medical crisis Fund for son mark
Donation protected
I am a Mother. My child is hurt very, very badly. We need help. It is the surprizes in life that "get" us every time: some good, others not so much. This is one of the latter.
My son Mark is a grown man with an 8 month old son of his own. The baby has a big brother 13. The family now has very little income, all because of a moment in time and a long fall from a ladder! Mark was washing windows. This was his source of income. Somehow the ladder fell and he along with it. He can't really remember the fall. It left him with a fractured pelvis, broken hip, two shattered wrists. 4 broken ribs and many bruises. A life-saving surgery to remove his spleen was done immediately. Yesterday, we learned he has a blood streak in his lung and they want to do a puncture to check for further damage. The main difficulty is the wrists. We need to tell the doctors right away if he wants the surgery that will, hopefully, provide 80 to 85 % function of his hands and arms in the future. His insurance will not cover the prothesis , therefore, cash up-front is needed. Things are still a bit vague as to costs but we"ve been told we need to provide about $5000. now ASAP before bones start to knit The sooner the better to insure the best chance for successful movability.
There are sure to be more costs as things progress, hence the figure of twenty thousand dollars. The family has to survive several months with the main bread winner off his feet. He will be in intensive care for at least two more weeks and then the hospital five or more weeks before he can go home. They say it will be a long, slow recovery....but Mark is keeping his good humor and said he will be bored silly. Alina will be struggling to hold down the fort. She's doing well. especially with seven rescue dogs added to the mix.
It"s tough to ask for help but a Mom will go to great lenghths to protect her cubs, so I am asking. If you are able to help a wee bit, without damage to yourselves, we all would be most greatful. Thank you for reading and sharing with us. One day perhaps we can return the favor.
