Hello, our family is fundraising on behalf of Markie Anderson Jr. — an incredible father, husband and friend — who is recovering from a brain aneurysm he suffered on 10/19/23.
Markie is Veteran who served as a Marine for 4.5 years before being discharged as a Sergeant. He has been diligently working towards building his own wellness business (K.U.M.A Corps), while also working as a massage therapist. But most importantly, he is a kind-hearted and loving family man who means the world to his wife, Chandra, and beautiful children DaniLee, Luther and Rhyann.
On October 19, 2023, Markie lost consciousness at home and was rushed to the ER where doctors confirmed that he had suffered a brain aneurysm. Markie spent 4 weeks in NCCU being closely monitored under sedation and low stimulation until the drain to his brain could be removed safely.
Waking up and finding out what had happened and realizing his loss of mobility was very tough for Markie and caused anxiety. Coupled with the fact that his mother had also suffered a ruptured aneurysm and passed away when he was very young.
Markie's incredible surgeons in the NCCU called him the "living, breathing miracle", and let Markie and Chandra know that it would be a very long road to recovery, but that he can and will make a full recovery. He has since been discharged and is undergoing acute rehab to ensure his recovery stays on track and is relearning how to walk, stand, breath, dress and feed himself.
We are asking for funds to help Markie and his family throughout this long recovery process. Any and all contributions are welcomed and are so appreciated.
Thank you.
