Mar-Kay Petty's Battle with Glioblastoma

My name is Brianna, firstborn of Mar-Kay and Sabrina Petty and oldest of their 7 children. We are coming together to share our father's situation and invite others to help our parents through the difficult journey ahead.

Last Friday our Father suffered a stroke, but thinking the sudden numbness on the left side of his face was related to some dental work he waited to go in to seek help. Monday he had a seizure and our youngest sister had to rush him to the ER. They admitted him right away and the many tests began. They found a brain bleed, but did not know what was causing it right away. By Friday we had answers. There was a tumor on his brain and another area that looked concerning. The hope was to have him in to surgery Saturday morning to remove the tumor and biopsy it. The results were devastating...

Glioblastoma, a very aggressive type of stage 4 cancer with no cure. We've been told that it's not a painful cancer, but that it will return and continue to return. Chemo treatments will be used to fight it off as long as possible to give him as much time as they can.

He's been told to live each day with a focus on those he loves.

Our hope in reaching out is to secure a way for our parents to cover the many hospital bills already accrued and the treatments that will follow.
