Hey there,
I'm Briga, and I'm reaching out for a friend of mine who could really use a hand right now.
Meet Markas, a little fighter who's been battling Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia since he was only 1y and 11 months old. It all started back on 10.06.2022 when his mom, Asta, noticed he wasn't looking too good. Fast forward through hospital stays, chemo sessions, and tough recoveries at home, and you've got a glimpse of what this family's been going through.
But the punches kept coming. Markas hit a rough patch with chemo, ending up with vocal cord palsy and needing a tracheostomy to help him breathe. Asta's been his rock, juggling feeding tubes and hospital visits like a champ. Asta had to quit her job to be able to take care of Markas 24-7.
Just when they thought they caught a break, Markas got hit with a relapse on 05.12.2023. The doctors decided to use a different treatment, which is bone marrow transplant. But cancer was at 12%, for bone marrow treatment has to be approx. 5%. Then doctors made a decision to choose CAR-T Cell Therapy, which is only available in London. The treatment starts in a few weeks time in February 2024, and they will have to stay in London for at least a month, where every day will be another hit to the wallet. Marius, Asta's husband, has to take unpaid time off work to be there for his family, which will be a loss of income for a month and the bills are piling up faster than they can blink.
So, here's the deal: I'm asking for your help to ease some of the financial strain on this family. Your support means they can focus on what really matters – getting Markas back on his feet.
Thank you for lending a hand. Your kindness will make all the difference in the world to these guys.
Many thanks
