We are deeply saddened to share the passing of Markalia McKinnin, better known as “Pocket,” on April 9 at Kitty Askins in Goldsboro. She is the beloved daughter of Tremenda Best. Pocket was truly a beautiful soul whose presence lit up every room she entered. Her smile was warm and unforgettable, and her laughter was full of life—bringing comfort and joy to everyone she met. She had a special way of making people feel seen, loved, and appreciated. Her kind spirit and the happiness she spread will never be forgotten, and her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
