Mark Walters & Miel

To our beloved Miel supporters,

We are calling upon our community for help.

Our beekeeper, Mark's home, as well as Miel's main hub of operations, caught fire early this morning. Everyone is safe, Mark was able to get out quickly & there were only minor injuries sustained. Our business office mascot, Piso the cat, is also safe & unharmed. This unfortunately means we have lost all of our products, supplies, & personal belongings to the fire/smoke. Production of beeswax-based products will be halted indefinitely. We hope we can begin again once we can all get our bearings. It will be up to Mark when he would like to return to Saturday & Wednesday markets with honey & any products that we already had packed away for off-site sales, we will have more information on that at a later date.

Right now we are hoping our community can come together to help us with items needed for cleanup. This will be a long recovery for the entire Miel family & everyone impacted by this tragedy. We would greatly appreciate things such as:

Dumpsters, trash bags, & plastic storage bins. Protective gear such as respirators or face masks, gloves, & goggles. We will also accept gift cards for food, tools, clothing & personal items, etc. For any item donations, please reach out to Vanessa

I have created this to help offset inevitably hefty funds accrued during this tough time. All monies will be distributed to Mark Walters & Vanessa Roers (Mark's daughter/business owner/finance manager) to place costs where most needed.

We want to extend our gratitude to everyone who has been there for us through it all. This is the second tragedy for Miel, as we lost our Queen Bee Sharilyn Walters less than two years ago. We want to continue her legacy & hope we can get through this obstacle as seamlessly as possible. Your continued patience & support are also greatly appreciated. We wouldn't be Miel without all of you.
