On September 1, Mark was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. Within a few days, Mark began a week of chemo treatments at Sanford in Fargo and then several weeks of recovery in the hospital. After a short break, he will undergo a second round of chemo followed by another several weeks of recovery. In total, he will spend a minimum of two months in the hospital. This fund has been set up to relieve the family of the financial burden associated with the costs of this extended hospital stay.
