Mark Stasek's Fight Against Cancer
Donation protected
On July 3, my brother-in-law, Mark Stasek was diagnosed with Stage 4 rectal cancer with liver metastases. After several scans including PET scan, MRI's and colonoscopies Mark started 6 sessions of chemotherapy. On October 17 they made the decision to proceed with surgery which involved removal of a portion of the colon and a portion of his liver. His liver was connected to his diaphragm which made a 6-8 hour planned surgery into an 11 hour surgery. Upon recovery from surgery Mark is going to have to endure six more sessions of chemotherapy with intense radiation therapy. As of August 30 Mark had to reduce his hours down to 8-15 hours of work, as well Sarah had to reduce her hours due to appointments and taking care of Mark. There is so much more to come but Mark is a fighter and has an incredible support in my sister, his wife. We will fight this together as a family and the support of Mark and Sarah's friends have been amazing. Due to the reduced hours in their availability to work and loss of income they are in need of some help from family and friends with your prayers and financial help if you are able to. We will keep every one updated as Mark and Sarah make this journey to recovery. Thank you from the bottoms of our hearts for your support.
