In Loving Memory of Mark Singh Dhillon
We are heartbroken to share the sudden and unexpected passing of Mark Singh Dhillon.
Mark passed suddenly on January 21st peacefully in his sleep, with so much love surrounding him. His heart simply stopped, and at this time, that is all we know. What we do know is that he left this world knowing how deeply he was loved.
Mark was just shy of his 43rd birthday, which he would have celebrated on February 18th.
He was Virginia’s high school sweetheart. They fell in love in Grade 11 and built a life together rooted in loyalty, laughter, and deep friendship. Their love story spanned decades and was the foundation of their beautiful family.
Together, Mark and Virginia raised two incredible daughters:
Penelope, age 6, and Amelia, age 5.
Mark was a devoted father who adored his girls. He was present, playful, protective, and proud. He showed them what love looks like every single day.
Mark was also the proud owner of Taco Dehli on Canary Lane, a much-loved restaurant that became a gathering place for neighbours, friends, and visitors alike. Through Taco Dehli, he built lasting connections with the Okanagan lifestyle community and with friends near and far. His warmth, generosity, and genuine care for people were felt by everyone who walked through his doors.
Beyond business, Mark was a true community builder. He believed in people. He showed up. He lifted others quietly and consistently.
His loss leaves an unimaginable hole in the hearts of those who knew him.
This fundraiser has been created by Shannon Christensen, a friend of the family to help us all create a safety net as a community for Virginia and her girls. As a mama who is new to town, she now finds herself navigating unimaginable loss while raising two young children. She needs a village to rally around her, to hold her up, and to remind her that she is not alone. Every dollar will go directly to Virginia and the girls on completion of the fundraiser.
The funds raised will help provide stability, cover immediate and ongoing needs, and support Penelope and Amelia’s future as they grow without their beloved father.
If you knew Mark, you knew his heart.
If you loved him, you knew his loyalty.
If you worked with him, you knew his integrity.
We are asking our community to surround this family with love in every way possible. Whether through a donation, a share, or a message of support, every gesture matters.
Thank you for helping carry this family through their darkest days.
With gratitude and love,
Shannon, Mamas & the Community That Loves Them
