6 weeks ago our Dad temporarily took leave to the job he loved due to unimaginable pain.

6 weeks from hell Including multiple clinic appointments, ER visits, and several inpatient hospital stays that ultimately led to a misdiagnosis.

Once the pain became truly unmanageable it was time for another doctor visit where they found a mass in his elbow. After several more scans and tests the doctors came to the conclusion that dad has Stage 4 lung Cancer that has impacted the bone (The mass in his elbow). So having originally gone in for extreme elbow pain, the tumor located in his elbow was found to have originated from the tumors located in his lungs.

After extensive care, Dad was eventually sent home on a heavy pain management regimen. We could tell right away that this was working because Dad was acting like himself, laughing and jokin around

Just as things started looking up, being able to temporarily go home, dad tells us that he received a notification on his phone that his position at work had been posted...And if that ain’t a kick in the gut, I don’t know what is.

Our Dad has worked his entire life as a single father of 4 children, working 2-3 jobs everyday. Dad has always been the sole provider; he takes great pride in hard work, integrity and dependability.

Our Dad has conditioned us kids to be self sufficient, independent, and to be honest. He would actually be very uncomfortable with us telling the world about our family business.

Never in our lives have us or Dad ever asked for anything, but due to the unfortunate circumstances I know this is something we cannot do on our own.

Along with the pain management, he’s started heavy treatments, both Radiation and Chemo. We’re hopeful, however this is a very severe diagnosis. Our step mom Jamie, as hard as this time has been, has been an absolute rockstar which we are so grateful for.

Moving forward they’ve got a long road ahead of them, both physically and financially. Unfortunately, the real world and all of its necessities doesn’t get put on hold through hard times (Bills, medical bills, living expenses, etc..) ... With our dad losing his job there’s just no way to sustain what they need without some sort of help. We’re asking, if you feel so inclined, to help in anyway possible.

This doesn’t even feel real. Our entire world has been turned upside down, but we’re confident that with loved ones and sticking together we can get through this.
