My name is Allyssa and I am writing on behalf of Mark Aaron Schroeder, my Dad. Mark is many things to many people: a son, husband, brother, father, and a friend.

As some of you know, for the last 6 years my Dad has been fighting a difficult battle against cancer. He was diagnosed at the end of 2017 with a unique form of cancer known as Stage 4 Pancreatic Neuroendocrine Tumors (PNETs). The news rocked our world, and we’ve been struggling to find stability ever since.

We have been blessed to have the time we have had but reality has a way of waking us up. Mark’s health has been in decline for the last 6 months and he has lost 80lbs.

He has now been diagnosed with Stage 3 Liver Failure and the limits have been reached for what doctors can do to help. As of this past weekend, he is transitioning to hospice. A small blessing is that he gets to be at home with my Mom but this also means my Mom is on indefinite leave from work, and pennies are being stretched to make the ends meet.

We have created a GoFundMe to help balance the financial weight of upcoming events. Every dollar raised will go towards providing the necessary support to help us navigate this difficult time. We would also appreciate it if you could share this page with your network to help us reach our goal.

I am hosting this to try and help my sister and alleviate some of the burdens. All I can say is that having Mark in my family has truly been a blessing. He has helped us all in so many ways and never asked for anything in return. Even to this day, he is more concerned with us than he is with himself.
