Mark Needs More Oxygen

Hello Everybody,

Back in 2021 I reached out to you to disclose my medical need for a portable oxygen concentrator. At that point I was somewhat confined to my apartment with an inadequate portable oxygen device that could last at most two hours on batteries.

Thanks to your incredible, heartfelt generosity, I was able to raise funds to buy a new portable oxygen concentrator that gave me the freedom to leave my apartment for more hours, granting me a wonderful freedom. Since then, I have acquired a new job role that requires me being in office all five days of the workweek, a position that would not be possible if I did not have a reliably working machine to provide me the oxygen I need to commute to work and do my job. I am always mindful and grateful of your kindness.

Since starting this new role in February of this year, this device has been with me on a commute that is 90 minutes each way, plus an eight-hour shift. I have supplemented this device with a stronger, longer-lasting battery and an extra charger so I can conveniently charge at work and at home.

It has been a very reliable workhorse, but very recently it has exhibited worrying signs of possible failure, and sooner rather than later need repair.

It is of utmost importance I always have this device. While it is under-warranty, I can have it serviced, yet will need a replacement device to be able to leave my apartment, work my job, and live my life. Although they provide older devices to rent in the mean-time, it is an expensive fee and does not match my robust needs.

I have concluded that because this is so critical for my normal, daily life, I need a 'back-up' unit at all times, so if ever needs repair, I have a working concentrator to fall back on. I have gone back to the provider and selected another identical device, which will be compatible with all my accessories. This will give me the peace of mind and security knowing that whatever happens, my health needs will be covered.
