Mark Lund, owner and operator of Team Lund Personal Training located here at Tony’s Gym, tragically lost his life Saturday afternoon while Kayaking with his wife Crystal Lund at Lake Blackshear. Mark was a fixture of the gym for over 20 years. From being a member, to working for the gym, and then operating his own Personal Training business. He dedicated his life to fitness and helping others achieve their goals. We are raising money in order to help his wife Crystal with these next few hard months. Mark will be missed so greatly here at Tony’s Gym and in everyone’s lives. We appreciate everyone that has contributed and will contribute in this time of need.
The following is from Mark’s wife Crystal Lund..
“I’m sitting here at the lake watching the water. Knowing he is out there. Wishing he would walk up and hug me. Just one more time. One more time!!
I want to put the story straight. I have read so many comments that are not true. No there was no gator involved and he was not alone.
“We went kayaking on Lake Blackshear just for a day trip. We kayak all the time. Very used to it. We had been out there for about 2 hours. We got caught on the other side of the lake in a storm. So we decided to go ahead and cross where we was at instead of go back the long way. The wind was getting bad and it was lightning. Mark was so worried about me. So we take off to cross over the lake. (Its about a quarter mile across) we thought we would make. It was so hard. We both was so exhausted and he was worried I would flip. The waves and wind was so bad. So he waved down a boat. He made it to the boat and flipped trying to get out. Mark can’t swim very well and he was so tired. I see him panic and scream for help. He makes it to my kayak to try and hold on. But he flips us both. By this time it is full blown panic. I’m trying to help him but my energy was going fast. So exhausted. I thought I was a goner many times. I just couldn’t hold on. I lost Mark in all the commotion. While someone was trying to save me they had two guys trying to help Mark. But they just couldn’t get him. By the time I get onto the boat which took awhile bc I was so exhausted he was gone. The water was calm. I couldn’t see him. No one would tell me anything. They would t let me jump back in. He was gone. “
They are still searching for him. I know he is out there. Pray they find him soon
All I’m asking is to please pray. Pray for strength. So many have been supportive. It means so much right now. Thank you!
I love you, Mark Lund!! I have loved you since I was 15 and will never stop. We will meet again my love. “ #teamlundstrong
