Hi, my name is Tim and I am starting this funding for a dear childhood friend of mine who has been dealing with Bronchiectasis (brong-kee-ek-tuh-sis). In bronchiectasis, your airways slowly lose their ability to clear out mucus. When mucus can't be cleared, it builds up and creates an environment in which bacteria can grow. This leads to repeated, serious lung infections. Each infection causes more damage to your airways. Over time, the airways lose their ability to move air in and out. This can make it hard for enough oxygen to reach your vital organs. As you can imagine, this makes breathing difficult, leading to the deterioration of the lungs. Mark did well to avoid COVID up until recently, but as you can see in Michelle's record of this year's events, he had to brave COVID as well.
Being in the hospital has left him unable to gain these funds on his own and with his permission, I have decided to reach out to those willing to contribute to his medical procedure expense and additional expenses to get him further expert assistance over at St. Joseph’s hospital in Arizona (he’s currently at Brigham and Women’s hospital in Massachusetts). He hates asking anyone for money more than anything but any bit helps. Times are tough for a lot of people so any contribution would be greatly appreciated, big or small. I will update below with anything of importance on Mark's status!
