Mark Eissman Memorial Fund

We are raising funds for the family of a much loved colleague, Mark Eissman.
A formidable journalist, editor and lawyer, and a wonderful person with a warm and generous spirit, Mark recently passed away, after a battle with cancer.
We, Mark's colleagues at Acuris, where he worked for the last 14 years, wish to honor his memory by raising funds to help his family prepare for life without Mark. All proceeds raised will go to Mark's family.
Mark's Acuris colleagues will sorely miss him. Not only did he excel in his profession but he went out of his way to help others at the same time. His colleagues remember him as someone who always had time for them – whether the matter at hand was big or small, Mark would drop everything to lend an ear and offer guidance and advice.
As a journalist, heading up the financial service beat, he would amaze his colleagues with the level of detailed information he was able to in his articles about financial institutions. Later he became the company’s Compliance & Standard Editor.
Prior to joining Acuris, then known as Mergermarket Group, in 2006, Mark was an investigative reporter for the Chicago Tribune and Associate Editor of the Chicago Sun-Times. He was also an attorney specializing in First Amendment-related matters.
As a family man, Mark was an incredibly loving and devoted husband and father to his wife and children.
Outside of his work and family life, Mark made a key contribution to the Jewish community, including creating and running interactive family services for young children, and serving as president of his synagogue. Mark was also an advocate for families of children with special needs in many areas such as school inclusion.
